Achieving Transparency

Transparency enables consumers, companies, investors and governments to be more accountable for the climate impacts and credible in their actions.  To achieve this we need more–and better quality–data.  Both these requisites from data are driving the search for transparent methods of collection, interpretation, and use of environmental data to assess key impacts, risks and opportunities. The goal of data transparency is achievable with significant new stakeholder engagement and governance frameworks to build upon and convert existing standards, metrics, and methodologies into digital standards and benchmarks. The Digital Climate Alliance is at the helm of promoting new accounting systems (Digital MRV) that use real-time and verifiable data to help turn carbon transparency into market-driven climate action.
